Black Forest Gold 30mm
Black Forest Gold aka Titanium, a stunning natural stone from Brazil which is in great demand for counter tops & feature wall panels all over the world. Whilst classified as a Granite in the industry this stone is a type of Schist, one of the so called “new” Granites that have been extracted in recent years. These types of Granites are made up of a mixture of hard Quartz, which polishes to a high level, to softer Mica which does do not reach the same level of polish. Hence the varied appearance you see in the way light reflects off the surface and edges of these types of stone. Also they are generally a little softer in nature than your more traditional types of monumental Granites, so a little more care has to be taken when placing very hard and sharp objects against the surface of this stone. With its varying shades of deep blacks in the background which is intersected by small to very large swirls of transparent like, white to quartz coloured crystals randomly weaving their way through the stone. You will also find scatterings of very fine sparkling grains of silver to gold coloured mica. During the polishing process, these types of stone have a resin applied to the surface to fill any natural pits or fissures that may exist. Over time it is possible for some of the more minute pits that are too small to effectively hold the resin to reopen but this does not affect the integrity or detract from the beauty of this stone. Due to its unique beauty slabs of this stone are often book-matched polished meaning two consecutive slabs will be cut with the opposing faces polished to create a mirror image of each other. Hence slabs are only sold in number sequence which allows for a consistent flow in pattern.

Black Forest Gold 20mm - Leather Finish
Black Forest Gold aka Titanium, a stunning natural stone from Brazil which is in great demand for counter tops & feature wall panels all over the world. Whilst classified as a Granite in the industry this stone is a type of Schist, one of the so called “new” Granites that have been extracted in recent years. An extra dimension has been added to this block as it has a unique “leather finish”. Instead of grinding the stone to a smooth polished finish, a diamond tipped brushing tool is used over the surface which leaves a matt, textured leather like finish. Effectively used as feature wall panels, splashbacks, Entertainment units and other furniture or even in conjunction with the same stone in polished finish to provide contrasting effects.
